Mosta - Townhouses

MOSTA (UCA) - An unconverted Townhouse in the heart of Mosta, found in an Urban Conservation area and very close to the Mosta Rotunda. This early 1900 property (pre WW1 ) is a beacon of history and character. This property withstood the test of time and was also used as a prime residence by RAF pilots during their stay on the island of Malta. A property which was in very close proximity to the falling bombs during the war so much so that bomb splinter markings are still found on the walls in the courtyard. Originally owned by a Maltese artist and carpenter, this house was later inherited throughout the family line.

This property was split into two houses at one point but it is indeed one large Townhouse with a number of rooms including two kitchens, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, sitting room, entrance hall with very high ceilings and arches as well as a number of other small rooms through the courtyard and roof.

Upon entrance the hallway leads to the courtyard, with the kitchen, bathroom and a bedroom to the left hand side, further on, the courtyard then leads to a door which opens to a Narnia-like, very large and lush back garden. The garden has a depth of circa 56 metres with a number of trees as well as access to a large bell-shaped well that lies beneath the garden and the property. Another small and separate courtyard is also found through the kitchen, this was used to keep animals at the time.

From the hallway, an original stone staircase leads to the second floor, where one finds another four bedrooms, two bathrooms, an arched outdoor corridor and a second staircase leading to the roof which is split into 3 terraces - two of which overlook the garden.

This property comes with a 16 arched underlying reservoir, with its access from the courtyard, which can be utilised as a basement level for storage, entertainment or as a spa if this property is used as a guesthouse.
