EPC - Energy Performance Certificates

EPC - Energy Performance Certificates

What is an EPC ?

Following a recent change in legislation, as of 1st March 2018 all properties placed on the market for rent or sale must clearly indicate ‘Energy Use’ within the advertised text.

This means that it is now the law for all property owners to obtain an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) before proceeding to advertise their property, both for sale as well as rentals, with fines ranging between €500 - €5000 if this document is not produced.

In simple terms, an EPC is similar to the energy labels found on appliances, with a scale from A to G, and will authenticate your property’s energy efficiency and carbon emissions.

If you already have this certificate in hand and are currently advertising any properties with us, please forward a copy of this document to [email] in order for us to update your listing. Should you not have this document at hand, you can read more about how to obtain one here https://secure2.gov.mt/epc/faqs?l=1.
